Hi! My name is Rachael Grace Chasteen, but I go by Grace.
“Sure.”
That was a recent response I gave my husband/photographer when he asked what words I wanted to convey in some new headshots.
I’m sure I’m a wife and a mom and whatever you call someone who looks after 21 chickens and 2 dogs. And in putting brush to paint and canvas and paper recently I’ve felt more sure than before that I’m creating art.
It’s hard to type because I have a staunch vision in my head of what it looks like to be an “artist” and I’m trying to reframe it to what I know to be true.
I’m creating artwork I’m sure of it.
And I’m honestly more excited than every about what I’m putting out there…here.
I’m Grace Chasteen. Wife. Mom. Artist. And I’m sure of it.
