POEM

Things look different without the light.
I walk with you out at night.

What I saw earlier disappears.
I haven’t felt this way in years. 

We pause to feel, to kiss and smile.
We stand still for a while.

Our ears pick up on different sounds.
The grass moves, the wind blows round. 

The air is crisp and light.
The moon is out and shining bright.

Hand in hand we breathe deep
And begin to move up the steep
Hill to bed 
Where we’ll rest our heads.
