I sit in the quiet and wait for you. 
You’re out on a rainy hike. 
I speak with Him, praying for you. 
Lifting you up into His care. 
Remembering my love for you pales in comparison. 
Reminded to whom you truly belong. 

You enter the room. 
Full of a journey. 
You communed with Him as well. 
My heart in eager await. 
Hanging onto your every word. 
Excitedly giddy about what He has said. 

You share. I listen. We cry. We embrace. 
The beauty of His presence is astounding. 
Who are we to so tenderly hear His voice. 
We each awaited the other’s return. 
And He has been with us all along.
